ARLINGTON, VA (Catholic Online) - Stosch, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, was given an A-plus rating and was named "Legislator of the Year." The chamber stated that he had "worked tirelessly" to support its legislative agenda. A first for the chamber, the report cards rate senators and delegates on their support on business community and for initiatives that will "move Virginia forward." No one "flunked" but five D's were given, all to Democrats in the House. All the C's also went to the Democrats. However, some of the Democrats pulled of a couple B's with only one A, Sen. Charles J. Colgan. Several of the bills that had been part of its legislative agenda, including one to prevent state tax dollars from being used on projects with mandatory project labor agreements, were noted. The organization had supported legislation creating tax credits. One of them will apply to businesses and individuals who donate private or narrow school tuition to poor and affluent students. © 2012, Distributed by NEWS CONSORTIUM. - - - Pope Benedict XVI's Prayer Intentions for January 2013 General Intention: The Faith of Christians.
