Yesterday, the Cool Spring Natural Cemetery in Berryville received a special blessing. Abbott Robert Barnes led an outdoor ceremony to bless the cemetery.

VIRGINIA NORTH, VA (Catholic Online) - Abbot Barnes sprinkled the cemetery with holy water than conducted a short service.

The cemetery is a 54 acre plot of land where people can be buried sans casket. This allows for a more natural method of burial, allowing the body to return to the earth more quickly. Many see it as an environmentally sound decision.

The cemetery is open to all people regardless of denomination.
