Founded by the Stigmatines
OUR LADY OF ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH was founded by religious priests of the Congregation of the Sacred Stigmata. For more than 30 years, Stigmatine priests served as our pastors and parochial vicars. In 1994, we welcomed our first Arlington Diocese priest, and we have been served by priests of our home diocese ever since. In 1990, in response to the growing population of immigrants from Central America, we began our Spanish-language ministry.
In 1959, after having been a mission church of All Saints Parish, Manassas, Our Lady of Angels Parish was established. Since that time, we have helped to establish Woodbridge area parishes: Holy Family, Dale City in 1970, and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Lake Ridge-Occoquan in 1976.
In 1977 the Diocese of Arlington opened Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional School in the Parish Center. The school is administered by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation (Nashville) and serves the children of Our Lady of Angels, Sacred Heart, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parishes.
